Announcing New Volunteer Training Sessions

The Cleveland County Abuse Prevention Council (APC) requires all volunteers applying to work in positions involving direct client contact to complete a 3-hour Volunteer Training Session. Training is conducted by APC staff and volunteers, and covers the following topics:

  • Agency history
  • Services overview
  • Domestic violence
  • Sexual assault
  • Homelessness
  • Client-advocate relationships
  • Active listening
  • Vicarious traumatization
  • Professional boundaries
  • Confidentiality and legal issues

Volunteer trainings are coordinated on a need bases. Please contact APC in regards to the next training being offered.
